Terms &
Conditions
Last updated: 26 August 2026
These terms form an agreement between you and Perseclave LLC ("Perseclave", "we", "us"), which produces and publishes all Diary of a Lost Student™ content. The Diary of a Lost Student™, DOALS, and The Drug Compendium™ names and marks are owned by Athera J Licensing and used by Perseclave under license.
Read this first
Diary of a Lost Student™ is educational content, not medical advice. Nothing here — in the podcast, on this site, in the Drug Compendium™, or anywhere else we publish — is a directive for the care of any patient. Anesthesia is high-consequence work. Always verify drug doses, concentrations, and clinical decisions against your institution's protocols, current manufacturer labeling, and your own trained judgment.
1 · Educational use only
All content published under Diary of a Lost Student™, including The Drug Compendium™, is produced for the education of anesthesia providers and those training to become them. It explains principles — physics, physiology, pharmacology, equipment, and history — in order to build understanding.
It is not a clinical protocol, a dosing reference, a standard of care, or a substitute for formal training, institutional policy, or supervision. It is not board preparation and makes no claim to cover any certifying examination's content outline.
2 · No professional relationship
Using this site, listening to the podcast, subscribing to premium content, or contacting us does not create a physician–patient, provider–patient, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship. We cannot and do not give advice about the care of a specific patient, and you should not send us patient-identifiable information. If you do, we may delete it without reading it further.
If you are a patient with a question about your own anesthetic, please speak with your own care team.
3 · Accuracy and currency
We work hard to be accurate and to represent history honestly. Even so, content is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Medicine changes. Drug labeling changes. An episode reflects our understanding at the time it was recorded and may become outdated without being amended or withdrawn.
If you believe something we published is wrong, please tell us — corrections are welcome and we would rather be corrected than be confidently mistaken.
4 · Clinical judgment remains yours
You are solely responsible for every clinical decision you make. Before acting on anything you learned here, verify it against:
- current manufacturer prescribing information and package labeling;
- your institution's policies, protocols, and formulary;
- current guidance from the relevant professional societies;
- your attending, supervisor, or preceptor, where applicable.
5 · Premium subscriptions
The Drug Compendium™ is distributed as a paid subscription through Supercast. Billing, payment processing, private feed delivery, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Supercast under its own terms and privacy policy, which govern your payment relationship.
Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel at any time through the account portal Supercast provides; access continues through the end of the paid period. Your private feed URL is personal to you — please don't share or republish it. We may revoke access for sharing that circumvents payment.
Publication schedules are our intention, not a contractual guarantee. Illness, clinical duties, and life happen.
6 · Intellectual property
Diary of a Lost Student™, DOALS, and The Drug Compendium™ are trademarks owned by Athera J Licensing and used by Perseclave LLC under license. Nothing on this site grants you any right to use those marks.
All content — episodes, audio, scripts, artwork, written explanations, metaphors, and the design of this site — is created and owned by Perseclave LLC and protected by copyright.
You're warmly welcome to share links, quote briefly with attribution, and recommend episodes to colleagues and students. You may not republish full episodes or transcripts, host our audio elsewhere, sell or paywall our content, use it to train machine-learning models, or present it as your own. Educators wanting to use material in teaching should just ask — the answer is usually yes.
7 · Acceptable use
Please don't attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to this site or its infrastructure, and don't use it to transmit anything unlawful. We may restrict access to protect the service and the people using it.
8 · Third-party services and links
This site depends on services we don't control, including RSS.com for hosting and the embedded player, Supercast for premium distribution, Netlify for hosting, and Google Fonts for typography. Listening links point to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other platforms. Each operates under its own terms and privacy policy, and we're not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
9 · Privacy
We collect as little as possible: your email address only if you give it to us, and standard technical data our host and player record in the ordinary course of serving the site. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers.
The full detail — what's collected, who processes it, how long it's kept, and how to have it deleted — lives in our Privacy Policy.
10 · Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Perseclave LLC, Athera J Licensing, and their respective members, officers, and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this site or its content — including any clinical decision made in reliance on it. You use this material at your own discretion and risk.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11 · Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the project grows and new material is published. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
12 · Contact
Questions, corrections, permission requests, or a note about something we got wrong: info@diaryofaloststudent.com. We read everything, and we'd rather hear from you than not.
